WhatConverts isn't just a product—it's a team. And without that team, we know we'd be nowhere.
That's why each month, we recognize one team member who's gone above and beyond in their role, and we share a little bit about who they are and what makes them so integral to WhatConverts. (They also get a bit of free swag from our merch store!)
This month, our spotlight employee is Kit Cabena, Technical Support Engineer.
How did you first get into the SaaS or tech industry, or what led you to WhatConverts?
I got into the SaaS industry after working in restaurants for many years. I wanted to move to an industry where I could grow in my career path and learn a lot. My love for computers definitely helped lead me to this decision. WhatConverts has an amazing product and great people, which led me to work here.
Is there something unique about working on our team that you find exciting?
I enjoy being in an environment where I am constantly learning and growing. My work has me looking through new tools and technology to understand how we can connect with them for our customers. This helps expose me to new things to learn on a daily basis.
This could be a specific individual contribution, a customer success story, or a team accomplishment.
My colleague, Max, and I just finished doing an audit of our external and internal documentation. This will help set us up for new projects improving the overall support experience and how we can help our customers.
Tell us what you like to do and how you maintain a work-life balance.
I play video games, read a lot, and probably watch too much YouTube. Playing a lot of Deadlock and currently reading Way of Kings (Beyond Amazing!!!).
It can be anything—from an interesting fact, to a hidden talent, to quirky hobbies.
I have done a lot of my own tattoos on myself including a Dia de los muertos themed pinup and a lotus flower.
Perhaps you want to code like a pro, master the art of PPC, or pick up a non-work-related hobby?
I would learn video editing and do book reviews or maybe drums? I’ll probably try to learn both of them at some point!
This can be work-related (like a tool or trend) or something personal (foods, pets, places, TV shows - anything!).
Brando Sando! Reading through the whole cosmere and obsessed with the leatherbound deluxe editions of his books.
How has this advice helped shape your life or your career?
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.” — Benjamin Franklin
This quote is a basic truth I’ve found through my years of learning. The more involved you get, the more you retain.
(This is a great opportunity to highlight a unique skill or stead-fast know-how!)
Mortal Kombat. I have trained with Master Raiden for many years to defend Earthrealm.
