Team Member Spotlight: Libby Kohan—Studio Skills, Strategy Brain, Shark Stories

WhatConverts isn't just a product—it's a team. And without that team, we know we'd be nowhere.

That's why each month, we recognize one team member who's gone above and beyond in their role, and we share a little bit about who they are and what makes them so integral to WhatConverts. (They also get a bit of free swag from our merch store!)

This month, our spotlight employee is Libby Kohan, Visual Designer.

Tell us a little about your career path.

How did you first get into the SaaS or tech industry, or what led you to WhatConverts?

I've always loved drawing and making art, so pursuing a career in design felt like a natural fit. Before joining WhatConverts, I had some really cool opportunities, including interning with Discovery Channel during Shark Week in NYC and later working at an agency that specialized in virtual and augmented reality. When I interviewed with Michael and Enrique more than three years ago, the team immediately felt like a great fit, and that feeling has definitely held true.

What do you enjoy most about your role at WhatConverts?

Is there something unique about working on our team that you find exciting?

I love that no two days are the same. One day I might be prototyping a new landing page, and the next I might be putting Wyatt in a superhero cape. The variety keeps things fun, and I love having the opportunity to be both creative and strategic in my role.

What’s one project or achievement at WhatConverts that you’re particularly proud of?

This could be a specific individual contribution, a customer success story, or a team accomplishment.

I'm proud of helping shape the visual identity of WhatConverts. It's been especially rewarding to watch the company grow over the years and see the design evolve alongside it.

How do you like to unwind after a busy day in the world of SaaS?

Tell us what you like to do, and how you maintain work-life balance.

Outside of work, my pets are the focal point of my life. Between three dogs, a cat, and a tarantula named Moe, they're always keeping me busy!

What’s a fun fact about you that your colleagues might not know?

It can be anything—from an interesting fact, to a hidden talent, to quirky hobbies.

I'm a certified scuba diver and have gone diving with sharks. It's still one of the coolest experiences I've ever had.

If you could instantly learn one skill (personal or professional), what would it be?

Perhaps you want to code like a pro, master the art of PPC, or pick up a non-work-related hobby?

I've always wanted to be a drummer. Watching Whiplash recently reminded me of that. I got really close in middle school band, but my mom convinced me to play the clarinet instead, and I've never quite gotten over it.

What’s something you’re currently obsessed with?

This can be work-related (like a tool or trend) or something personal (foods, pets, places, TV shows - anything!).

As technology and AI become a bigger part of everyday life, I've found myself gravitating toward really simple, analog things like fishing. I also recently bought my first lawn mower, and I've been surprised by how much satisfaction I get from mowing my lawn.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received, professionally or personally?

How has this advice helped shape your life or your career?

GEMO: Good Enough, Move On.

As a designer, it's easy to get caught up in perfecting details, but it's a simple reminder that sometimes progress is more important than perfection.

You’re given the chance to win $5 million, but you have to beat 100 people at a single task. You can choose the task—what would it be and why do you think you’d win?

(This is a great opportunity to highlight a unique skill, or stead-fast know-how!)

Some sort of thrifting competition where everything has to be found secondhand. I've been honing that skill for years, whether I meant to or not.
