WhatConverts isn't just a product. It's a team. And without that team, we know we'd be nowhere.
That's why each month, we recognize one team member who's gone above and beyond in their role, and we share a little bit about who they are and what makes them so integral to WhatConverts. (They also get a bit of free swag from our merch store!)
This month, our spotlight employee is Connor Kelley, Customer Success Manager.
Tell us a little about your career path.
How did you first get into the SaaS or tech industry, or what led you to WhatConverts?
I began my career as an SDR at an HR technology company, but quickly realized that I was more passionate about building long-term relationships than traditional sales. A peer introduced me to WhatConverts, and when I saw the company was looking for strong communicators, I decided to apply. I’m incredibly glad I did.
What do you enjoy most about your role at WhatConverts?
Is there something unique about working on our team that you find exciting?
I love watching accounts grow and flourish. Since I work closely with customers from the moment they join, their accounts often start with only the basics in place. Being able to build a relationship, understand their marketing attribution challenges, and tailor WhatConverts to their specific needs is incredibly rewarding, and it never gets old.
What’s one project or achievement at WhatConverts that you’re particularly proud of?
This could be a specific individual contribution, a customer success story, or a team accomplishment.
There isn’t one specific moment that stands out, but I find it incredibly rewarding when an agency begins a trial with just one or two clients, sees the value WhatConverts provides, and ultimately decides to migrate its entire client base. I take great pride in earning that level of trust and knowing agencies believe in our ability to deliver meaningful results for their clients.
How do you like to unwind after a busy day in the world of SaaS?
Tell us what you like to do, and how you maintain work-life balance.
Over the past year, much of my free time has been dedicated to training for Ironman Ottawa. Outside of training, I’m an avid golfer who enjoys playing at different courses throughout the Greater Philadelphia area. Staying active is a big part of who I am.
What’s a fun fact about you that your colleagues might not know?
It can be anything—from an interesting fact, to a hidden talent, to quirky hobbies.
I was born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where The Office is set. One of the coolest parts of watching the show is recognizing that many of the places and local references are real. My fun fact is that I went to the “same high school” as Pam and Darryl.
If you could instantly learn one skill (personal or professional), what would it be?
Perhaps you want to code like a pro, master the art of PPC, or pick up a non-work-related hobby?
I would love to become skilled at graphic design. I’ve always thought it was fascinating to be able to bring ideas to life and create art in a digital format.
What’s something you’re currently obsessed with?
This can be work-related (like a tool or trend) or something personal (foods, pets, places, TV shows - anything!).
Golf completely takes over my attention during the warmer months. It may not be a new hobby, but as soon as the weather gets nice, it is pretty much the only thing on my mind.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received, professionally or personally?
How has this advice helped shape your life or your career?
A SaaS mentor of mine once shared the importance of detaching from the end goal and focusing instead on the actions and outputs within your control. That perspective helps me stay grounded and consistently complete the necessary steps toward achieving my goals.
You’re given the chance to win $5 million, but you have to beat 100 people at a single task. You can choose the task—what would it be and why do you think you’d win?
(This is a great opportunity to highlight a unique skill, or stead-fast know-how!)
I think it would have to be a three-point contest. I played basketball my entire life and like to think I can still shoot, although my confidence may be slightly higher than my current shooting percentage. Give me a few warm-up shots, though, and I’d be ready to put on a show.
