WhatConverts isn't just a product—it's a team. And without that team, we know we'd be nowhere.
That's why each month, we recognize one team member who's gone above and beyond in their role, and we share a little bit about who they are and what makes them so integral to WhatConverts. (They also get a bit of free swag from our merch store!)
This month, our spotlight employee is Aimee Blair, Back End Engineer.
How did you first get into the SaaS or tech industry, or what led you to WhatConverts?
My first role in tech was at a local Cisco reseller, where I worked on Cisco contact center, in-house software development, and integrations between Cisco products and 3rd party software. When I joined WhatConverts I was excited to work on a product that would be more customer-facing rather than internal only.
Is there something unique about working on our team that you find exciting?
I love the opportunity to learn new things and I enjoy working on the different areas of the product, which keeps things varied. It makes me happy when I see customers and coworkers get excited about something I’ve worked on.
This could be a specific individual contribution, a customer success story, or a team accomplishment.
The Lead Manager changes that were just released. Working on the backend for that was challenging but rewarding. I’m happy with how it turned out and I hope our customers will be able to benefit from it.
Tell us what you like to do and how you maintain a work-life balance.
Video games, crochet, and spending time with my husband and pet rabbit.
It can be anything—from an interesting fact, to a hidden talent, to quirky hobbies.
I have a degree in Meteorology. While I’ve moved away from that as a career path I still enjoy following large weather events. I’m determined to see a water spout one of these days.
Perhaps you want to code like a pro, master the art of PPC, or pick up a non-work-related hobby?
Learn a new language or play the violin.
This can be work-related (like a tool or trend) or something personal (foods, pets, places, TV shows - anything!).
I’ve been playing through all the Final Fantasy games. I’ve completed FF 1-6, 13, 14, 15. I’m currently working on Final Fantasy VII Remake.
How has this advice helped shape your life or your career?
“Stay curious and never stop learning” I’m constantly learning something new or a new way to approach a task.
(This is a great opportunity to highlight a unique skill or stead-fast know-how!)
Picross (nanograms) because I’ve done so many of them I’ve gotten pretty quick that I think I could win against 100 people.
