Team Member Spotlight: Soliman Cifuentes—Volcano Climber, Photographer, Philosopher. Oh, and Support Pro.

WhatConverts isn't just a product—it's a team. And without that team, we know we'd be nowhere.

That's why each month, we recognize one team member who's gone above and beyond in their role, and we share a little bit about who they are and what makes them so integral to WhatConverts. (They also get a bit of free swag from our merch store!)

This month, our spotlight employee is Soliman Cifuentes, Technical Support Engineer.

Tell us a little about your career path.

How did you first get into the SaaS or tech industry, or what led you to WhatConverts?

I’ve been into technology for as long as I can remember. That curiosity naturally turned into technical roles over time. When I came across WhatConverts, it felt like the right fit, both in the work itself and in the way the team approaches it.

What do you enjoy most about your role at WhatConverts?

Is there something unique about working on our team that you find exciting?

The impact. Support here isn’t just about answering tickets; it’s about helping people actually solve problems. Whether it’s a simple task or a complex integration, making things clearer and delivering results for customers is what I enjoy most.

What’s one project or achievement at WhatConverts that you’re particularly proud of?

This could be a specific individual contribution, a customer success story, or a team accomplishment.

I’ve been working on an MCP server that connects WhatConverts with tools like Claude and other LLMs. It started as an experiment, but I noticed real interest from users, so I kept pushing it forward. The goal is to make our data easier to work with in these new workflows. Still early, but it’s been a fun space to explore.

How do you like to unwind after a busy day in the world of SaaS?

Tell us what you like to do, and how you maintain work-life balance.

I tend to slow things down, coffee, documentaries, sci-fi, or anything related to science and astronomy. I also enjoy long conversations about philosophy or just interesting ideas. It’s a good reset after a busy day.

What’s a fun fact about you that your colleagues might not know?

It can be anything—from an interesting fact, to a hidden talent, to quirky hobbies.

I’m really into photography and have a small studio at home. I’ve shared some of my work on Unsplash over the years, and it’s reached millions of views and downloads. There’s a decent chance you’ve come across one of my photos without knowing it.

If you could instantly learn one skill (personal or professional), what would it be?

Perhaps you want to code like a pro, master the art of PPC, or pick up a non-work-related hobby?

Alpinism. I’ve climbed volcanoes here in Guatemala, and there’s something about being above that’s hard to describe. I’d love to take that further and climb some of the highest peaks in the world.

What’s something you’re currently obsessed with?

This can be work-related (like a tool or trend) or something personal (foods, pets, places, TV shows - anything!).

Travel. I recently got back from northern Europe and am now looking for the next place. It’s hard to stop once you get into it.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received, professionally or personally?

How has this advice helped shape your life or your career?

Time will pass either way. If you start something today, you’ll eventually get good at it. If you don’t, you’ll still be in the same place later. That idea has stuck with me.

You’re given the chance to win $5 million, but you have to beat 100 people at a single task. You can choose the task—what would it be and why do you think you’d win?

(This is a great opportunity to highlight a unique skill, or stead-fast know-how!)

Video games, specifically Call of Duty: Mobile - Battle Royale. It’s literally built around 100 people competing, so I’ll take those odds.
