Add a Phone Number to Track Calls from Email Campaign Clicks

Email campaigns are one of the most direct ways to drive visitors to your website. When recipients click a link in your email, they often become highly qualified leads.

Adding a tracking number for these visitors helps you connect phone calls to specific email campaigns, giving you a complete view of performance across both digital and offline channels.

Add a Phone Number

Follow these steps to create a phone number that tracks website calls generated from your email campaigns:

  1. Use a UTM builder such as utmbuilder.net to create a unique campaign URL (for example, yoursite.com/?utm_source=postcard&utm_medium=offline&utm_campaign=winter_sale)
  2. Follow the steps outlined in Create a Dynamic Number Pool for a Specific Source & Medium to add a tracking number that matches your campaign’s source and medium.
  3. In the Source & Medium panel, add your campaign name (for example, winter_sale) so that calls can be correctly attributed to your offline marketing effort.

Tip: Create separate tracking numbers for newsletters, automated sequences, and promotional blasts to measure which types of emails generate the most engagement and calls.
