Track HubSpot Web Forms
HubSpot is an all-in-one marketing platform that includes form builders for lead generation, registration, and contact forms. WhatConverts can track HubSpot form submissions by configuring your forms to use raw HTML mode and setting up manual tracking, which captures lead data and attributes each submission to the marketing source that drove it.
Note: The WhatConverts tracking script must be installed on your website before you can track forms.
Set Up HubSpot Form Tracking
To track HubSpot form submissions with WhatConverts, you'll need to configure your HubSpot form and then set up tracking in WhatConverts.
Step 1: Configure Your HubSpot Form
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Marketing, then Forms.
- Hover over a form, and click “Edit”.
- In the top right, click “Review and update”.
- In the right panel, at the bottom, click “Update”.
- In the dialog box, click “Get embed code”.
- Select the tab for “Developer Code (Advanced)”.
- Check the box saying you understand the risks and then copy the code from the box.
Notes: This will only apply for Standard (Regular) HubSpot forms (not pop-up Forms).
Setting your form as a raw HTML form is not available in the updated form editor. Only forms built using the legacy form editor can be set as raw HTML.
A Marketing Hub or Content Hub Professional or Enterprise subscription is required to access the form developer code.
You can learn more about this method of embedding through HubSpot’s documentation here: Style and embed HubSpot forms on an external site
Step 2: Set Up Tracking in WhatConverts
- Log in to the WhatConverts profile with which you want to track your HubSpot Form.
- Select "Tracking" from the top menu. Select "Forms" and click "Web Forms".
- Click the "Add Web Form" button, and select "Manual Setup".
- Name your form, select Attribute Type "Class" and enter Attribute Value as hs-form.
- Click the "Finish" button.
Your HubSpot form is now being tracked. WhatConverts will capture all submissions from this form and create leads with full attribution data.
Test Your HubSpot Form Tracking
After setting up tracking, verify that form submissions are being captured correctly:
- Go to the page where your HubSpot form is located.
- Fill out the form with test information and submit it.
- Return to your WhatConverts profile and view your form leads.
- Find the test form submission and check its data.
If your test lead appears correctly, your HubSpot form tracking is working properly.
