Create a Dynamic Number Pool for Web Referrals

Track leads coming from social media and third-party websites by creating a Dynamic Number Pool using Web Referral triggers. This setup ensures that WhatConverts displays the correct tracking number when visitors arrive on your site from external links such as Meta, Instagram, X, or LinkedIn.

Add a Web Referral Trigger

Follow these steps to create a dynamic number pool for web referrals.

1. In your WhatConverts profile, select “Tracking” from the top menu.
2. Choose “Calls”, then “Phone Numbers”.
3. Click “+ Add Dynamic Pool” to create a new pool, or select an existing pool to edit.
4. Choose “Advanced Setup” and enter a swap number.
5. In the Traffic Source panels, choose “Web Referral.



6. In the Visitors from field, enter the domains you want to track.
   Separate multiple domains with commas.
   1. Example: facebook.com,l.facebook.com,m.facebook.com,lm.facebook.com,mobile.facebook.com,web.facebook.com
7. Include all possible domain variations for each platform to ensure full coverage:
   1. Instagram: l.instagram.com,instagram.com
   2. Facebook: facebook.com,l.facebook.com,m.facebook.com,lm.facebook.com,mobile.facebook.com,web.facebook.com
   3. X (Twitter): x.com
   4. LinkedIn: linkedin.com
8. Click “Next Step” to continue. On the next page, choose whether to use Existing Numbers or Purchase New Numbers for your pool.
   1. To use existing numbers, select “Use Existing Numbers”, choose the numbers you want to include, and click “Finish”.
   2. To purchase new numbers, select “Get New Numbers”, then use the dropdown menus to choose your country, area code, or number type. Click “Next Step” to continue.
9. Choose where to forward calls. This is the destination number that will receive calls from this pool. Click “Next Step”.
10. Enable any additional features you want on your numbers, such as:
    1. Text Messaging
    2. Call Transcription
11. Click “Finish” to complete your Dynamic Number Pool setup.
