Port a Number to WhatConverts

Who has access to this feature?

Available on: All Plans

Access level: Master Account Users Only

Porting allows you to move your existing phone numbers from another carrier into WhatConverts. Once ported, these numbers can be used as tracking numbers while maintaining ownership of your existing lines.

Start a Port Request

Follow these steps to port your existing numbers to WhatConverts.

  1. Gather the following information to submit your port request:
    1. The WhatConverts Profile, where the numbers are being ported into.
    2. The Destination Number for each tracking number.
    3. A list of numbers in text format or CSV.
    4. A PDF or DOC file of the LOA (Letter of Authorization), which can be downloaded here.
  2. Email all information to support@whatconverts.com to begin your port request.
  3. WhatConverts Support will confirm receipt and keep you updated on your port’s status.
  4. Porting generally takes 1-4 weeks to complete. Please do not terminate your existing service until the port has finished.

Important Notes

  • International Ports: Some international number ports may include a small surcharge. Most ports are free, and we will confirm any potential charges prior to porting.
  • Customer Service Record: To properly fill out the LOA, contact your current carrier and request a Customer Service Record (CSR). The CSR helps ensure your LOA details match your carrier’s records.
