Receive Phone Call Data with Webhooks

This article shows the example data format sent by WhatConverts when a phone call lead is completed. When a phone call lead is created in WhatConverts, the system sends an outbound POST request containing the call data in JSON format to your configured webhook URL, where it can be received and handled by your external systems.

Phone Call-Specific Fields

In addition to common webhook variables, phone call leads include these specific fields:

  • call_status: Status of the call (Completed, Missed, etc.)
  • phone_name: Name assigned to the tracking phone number
  • call_duration: Human-readable duration of the call
  • call_duration_seconds: Call duration in seconds for calculations
  • tracking_number: The WhatConverts tracking number that received the call
  • destination_number: The number the call was forwarded to
  • caller_number: The phone number of the person who called
  • caller_name: Caller ID name if available
  • answer_status: Whether the call was answered or went to voicemail
  • line_type: Type of phone line (Landline, Mobile, VoIP, etc.)
  • recording: URL to download the call recording
  • play_recording: URL to play the call recording in browser
  • voicemail: URL to download voicemail if call went to voicemail
  • play_voicemail: URL to play voicemail in browser
  • call_transcription: Automated transcription of the call conversation
  • voicemail_transcription: Automated transcription of voicemail message
  • additional_fields: Custom fields captured during call (e.g., IVR menu selections)
