Add a Phone Number to Track Bing Ads Extension Calls

Setting up a Bing Ads call extension tracking number allows you to monitor and record calls generated from your Microsoft Advertising call extensions. This setup requires creating a tracking number in WhatConverts and then adding it to your Bing Ads call extension. Learn more about Call Tracking.

Add a Phone Number for Bing Ads Extensions

Follow these steps to create a tracking number in WhatConverts for Bing Ads call extensions.

1. In your WhatConverts profile, select "Tracking" from the top menu.
2. Select "Calls", then "Phone Numbers".
3. Click "+ Add Phone Number" and select "Advanced Setup".
4. Choose "Bing Ads Extension" and define any alternative attribution. Then click "Next Step".
5. Move the slider to "1". Choose the country, phone number type (local or toll-free), and area code. Click "Find Numbers". Review the number and click "Next Step".
6. Enter the Destination Number (the number calls will forward to) and give your phone number a descriptive name, such as "Bing Ads Call Extension". Click "Next Step".
7. Review and adjust optional features based on your preferences. Once satisfied with your selections, click "Finish".

Add Your Call Tracking Number to Bing Ads

After creating your tracking number, add it to your Bing Ads call extension.

1. Log in to Microsoft (Bing) Ads. Click "Ads & extensions". Click the "Extensions" tab. Open the View drop-down and select "Call Extensions".
2. Click the checkbox next to the call extension you would like to update. Click the "Edit" drop-down and select "Edit Call Ad Extension".
3. In the Phone Number box, paste the WhatConverts tracking number added in the previous steps. Select the radio button for "Yes, I would like to track my calls using a Microsoft Advertising forwarding number".
4. Click "Save".
