What is Email Tracking?
Email Tracking in WhatConverts allows you to capture leads directly from forwarded customer emails. Each profile in your account is assigned a unique forwarding email address, which you can use to send customer messages into WhatConverts automatically.
For example: leads+842315.92f0a4c7@iconnode.com
When an email is forwarded to this address, WhatConverts scans it to identify the sender’s name, email address, and message content, creating a new lead in your dashboard.
Why Use Email Tracking?
Email Tracking makes it easy to manage and report on leads that come in through direct communication rather than a form or call. It helps you:
- Capture leads that originate from email inquiries or contact requests.
- Attribute those leads to their correct marketing source (when available).
- Keep your lead reporting consistent across all contact methods.
- Reduce manual entry by automatically generating a lead record from an email.
Examples of How Businesses Use Email Tracking
- Agencies use email tracking to capture leads from forwarded contact form submissions or CRM notifications.
- Service businesses forward customer quote requests received by email to WhatConverts for easier reporting and follow-up.
- Sales teams forward direct email inquiries to ensure every potential customer interaction is counted as a lead.
