API Key Limits and Rate Restrictions
API Keys have usage limits to ensure system stability and fair access for all users. Understanding these limits helps you plan your API integrations and avoid request failures.
Request Limits
WhatConverts enforces daily request limits based on your API key type:
Profile API Key
- Daily limit: 1,000 requests per day
- Scope: Applies to a single profile within an account
Master Account API Key
- Daily limit: 10,000 requests per day
- Scope: Applies across all accounts within your Master Account
Daily limits reset at midnight UTC. If you reach your daily limit, additional API requests will fail until the limit resets.
Rate Limits
In addition to daily request limits, API keys have rate restrictions to prevent system overload:
- Request frequency: 1 request per millisecond (1,000 requests per second maximum)
- Concurrent requests: Up to 20 simultaneous requests
These limits apply to both Profile and Master Account API Keys. If you exceed the rate limit, requests will be throttled and may return rate limit errors.
When You Might Need Higher Limits
Standard API limits work for most use cases, but you may need increased limits if you:
- Run large-scale data syncs across hundreds of profiles
- Build real-time integrations that require frequent polling
- Manage enterprise-level Master Accounts with high lead volume
- Develop custom applications serving multiple end users
Request Higher Limits
To increase your API request limits:
- Contact WhatConverts Support with details about your use case and integration needs.
- Explain your current API usage patterns and why higher limits are necessary.
- Support will review your request and work with you to find a solution.
Custom rate limits are available on a case-by-case basis for qualified integrations.
