Use Endpoints
Endpoints allow you to send lead data directly into WhatConverts from external systems, CRMs, or custom applications. Once you've set up your endpoint, you can use it to create new leads or update existing ones automatically.
How It Works
Endpoints act as a secure URL where you can send lead data via HTTP POST requests. When WhatConverts receives data at your endpoint, it processes the information according to the rules you've configured, and either creates a new lead or updates an existing one.
Use Endpoints
To send data to your endpoint:
- Prepare your CSV or JSON file with lead data.
- Use an API tool (such as Postman, cURL, or your application's HTTP library) to send a POST request to your endpoint URL.
- Include your data file in the request body:
- For CSV files: Use form-data format with the key csv_file
- For JSON files: Send the JSON object in the request body
- Send the request and wait for confirmation that your data was processed successfully.
- Verify your leads appear in the Lead Manager in your WhatConverts account.
Common Use Cases
Endpoints are useful for:
- Importing offline leads: Upload leads from events, trade shows, or phone calls tracked in other systems
- Syncing CRM data: Keep WhatConverts updated with lead changes made in your CRM
- Bulk lead uploads: Send large batches of historical lead data into WhatConverts
- Automated integrations: Build custom workflows that send leads to WhatConverts automatically
- Updating existing leads: Enrich lead records with additional information like qualification status or sales outcomes
