Modify Lead Data Automatically with Lead Intelligence

Lead Intelligence can automatically update, enrich, and modify lead data based on conditions you define. This keeps lead records complete, consistent, and actionable without manual data entry.

How It Works

Data modification rules use IF/THEN logic to update lead fields when specific conditions are met. Common modifications include:

• Setting Quote Value or Sales Value based on service type
• Copying data from one field to another for consistency
• Appending notes or tags to existing field values
• Clearing outdated or incorrect information
• Populating custom fields based on lead interactions

These modifications happen automatically as leads come in or when you apply rules to existing leads.

Set Up Automatic Data Modification

To automatically modify lead data using a template:

1. Access the Master Account or Profiles settings depending on where you want to apply rules.
2. Select "Lead Intelligence".
3. Click "+ Add Intelligence Rule".
4. Select "Import rule from template".
5. Choose the "Qualify, Categorize, Value" category from the left sidebar.
6. Select one of the following data modification templates:
   • Set Quote Value on Category Selection: Automatically assigns Quote Value based on custom field selections.
   • Set Sales Value on Category Selection: Automatically assigns Sales Value based on custom field selections.
7. Click "Import" to load the template.
8. Review and customize the template:
   • Update custom field names to match your setup
   • Adjust value amounts for different categories
   • Add additional conditions or actions
9. Click "Continue" to proceed to rule details.
10. Fill in the rule information:
    • Rule Name: Use a descriptive name like "Set Value by Service Type"
    • Rule Description: Optionally, add notes about modification logic
    • Activate Rule?: Toggle on to activate immediately
    • Time Zone: Select the appropriate time zone
11. Click "Complete" to save and activate the rule.

Use Different Data Modification Actions

You can create new rules from scratch and use the following actions to modify lead data automatically with Lead Intelligence:

• Set value of: Assign a specific value to a field when the rule conditions are met
• Copy field value of: Copy the value from one field into another field
• Append text to: Add text to the end of an existing field value.
• Prepend text to: Add text to the beginning of an existing field value.
• Clear value of: Remove the current value from a field.
• Increase/decrease value of: Increase or decrease a numeric field value by a set amount.
