Add a Phone Number to Track Website Calls from Offline Campaigns

Offline campaigns, such as print ads, billboards, postcards, or radio spots, are valuable ways to reach potential customers who may not engage with digital ads. These leads often visit your website manually, meaning their traffic source isn’t automatically tracked.

By setting up a phone number tied to an offline campaign, you can attribute website calls to specific marketing efforts and see which channels truly drive leads.

Add a Phone Number

Follow these steps to create a phone number that tracks website calls generated from your offline campaigns.

  1. Use a UTM builder such as utmbuilder.net to create a unique campaign URL (for example, yoursite.com/?utm_source=postcard&utm_medium=offline&utm_campaign=winter_sale)
  2. Follow the steps outlined in Create a Dynamic Number Pool for a Specific Source & Medium to add a tracking number that matches your campaign’s source and medium.
  3. In the Source & Medium panel, add your campaign name (for example, winter_sale) so that calls can be correctly attributed to your offline marketing effort.

Tip: For print or radio ads, keep your URLs simple (for example, yourbrand.com/winter) and set up a redirect to your full UTM URL for easier tracking.
