Filter Out Junk or Low-Quality Leads Automatically with Lead Intelligence

Who has access to this feature?

Available on: Elite Plans
Access level: All Users

Lead Intelligence can automatically identify and filter spam, duplicates, wrong numbers, and unqualified inquiries before they distort your reporting or reach your ad platforms and CRM. This keeps data clean and ensures accurate campaign performance metrics.

How It Works

Filtering rules detect negative quality signals and mark leads accordingly or prevent them from triggering other actions. Common filtering criteria include:

  • Call duration (very short calls often indicate wrong numbers or hang-ups)
  • Spam indicators (known spam phone numbers or email addresses)
  • Duplicate detection (same caller or form submitter within a time period)
  • Missing or incomplete data (forms with placeholder text or invalid information)
  • AI-detected spam content (keywords or patterns that suggest junk submissions)

Once filtered, these leads can be marked as not quotable, excluded from ad platform conversions, or blocked entirely from future submissions.

Set Up Lead Filtering

To automatically filter junk leads:

  1. Access the Master Account or Profiles settings depending on where you want to apply rules.
  2. Select "Lead Intelligence".
  3. Click  "+ Add Intelligence Rule".
  4. Select "Import rule from template" or "Build rule from scratch".
  5. Create conditions that identify low-quality leads:
    • Duration (Seconds) less than 10 (for very short calls)
    • Caller Number is [known spam number]
    • Email Address contains test, spam, or placeholder text
    • Call Transcription contains spam keywords
  6. Set actions to handle filtered leads:
    • Set Quotable to "No" to mark as unqualified
    • Block Phone Number / Email Address to prevent future submissions
    • Decrease Lead Score to deprioritize for follow-up
  7. Click "Continue" to proceed to rule details.
  8. Fill in the rule information:
    • Rule Name: Use a descriptive name like "Filter Short Calls"
    • Rule Description: Optionally, add notes about filtering logic
    • Activate Rule?: Toggle on to activate immediately
    • Time Zone: Select the appropriate time zone
  9. Click "Complete" to save and activate the rule.

Common Lead Filtering Workflows

Common workflows to filter out junk or low quality leads include:

  • Filter Short Calls: Automatically mark calls shorter than 10-15 seconds as not quotable, as they likely indicate wrong numbers or immediate hang-ups.
  • Block Known Spam Numbers: Maintain a list of spam phone numbers and automatically block them when detected.
  • Filter Incomplete Forms: Identify form submissions with placeholder text like "test@test.com" or "asdf" and mark them as not quotable.
  • Detect Duplicate Submissions: Flag leads from the same phone number or email within a short time period as potential duplicates.
  • Filter by AI Content Analysis: Use Ask AI to detect spam patterns in call transcriptions or form messages.
