Resolve Google Ads Maximum Connection Limit Errors

Google enforces a strict limit of 50 active authorizations per account. If you connect Google Ads at the Profile level, each connection counts as a separate authorization. Once that limit is reached, Google automatically revokes the oldest connections, causing WhatConverts to fail when attempting to send conversion data. This article explains how to identify and resolve this issue.

Google Ads authorization was revoked due to too many Profile-level connections

Each Profile-level Google Ads connection uses one of your 50 available authorizations. As you add more profiles, the count grows until Google begins revoking older connections automatically.

How to prevent reaching the authorization limit

To troubleshoot this issue:

  1. Access the Master Account Settings in WhatConverts.
  2. Select "Master Integrations".
  3. Click "Connect" under Google Ads, then select "Add Connection".
  4. Follow the Google prompts and click "Allow" to grant WhatConverts permission to send conversions to your Google Ads account.

Connecting at the Master Account level reuses a single authorization across all profiles, stopping your authorization count from growing each time you add a new profile.

Too many existing profile-level connections are already active

If you are already close to or have exceeded the 50-authorization limit, existing Profile-level connections need to be transitioned to the Master Account level.

How to transition existing connections

To troubleshoot this issue:

  1. Review how many Profile-level Google Ads connections are currently active in WhatConverts.
  2. If you have only a few profiles connected, open each profile's integration settings, disconnect the current Google Ads connection, and reconnect using the "Add Master Connection" option.
  3. If you have a large number of Profile-level connections, contact the WhatConverts Support team for assistance transitioning them to the Master Account level.

Note: Connecting Google Ads at the Master Account level is the recommended approach for all accounts with multiple profiles. It simplifies authorization management and prevents future connection errors.
