Understand the Housecall Pro Integration

The Housecall Pro Integration uses Zapier to connect WhatConverts with Housecall Pro, enabling automated workflows between your marketing intelligence and field service management systems. Understanding how this integration works and its limitations will help you maximize its value for your business.

How the Integration Works

The Housecall Pro Integration operates through Zapier's trigger and action system:

Available Triggers from Housecall Pro:

  • New Scheduled Job: Fires when a new job is scheduled in Housecall Pro
  • New Completed Job: Fires when a job is marked as completed in Housecall Pro

Available Actions in Housecall Pro:

  • Create Customer: Creates a new customer record in Housecall Pro with the provided information

This bi-directional capability allows you to both receive job data from Housecall Pro into WhatConverts and send new leads from WhatConverts into Housecall Pro.

Key Limitations to Understand

Native Tracking Not Supported:

Housecall Pro embeds forms using iFrames and does not allow custom tracking code to be added. This means WhatConverts cannot natively track form submissions that occur within Housecall Pro's interface. As a result:

  • Leads that originate in Housecall Pro forms will not include WhatConverts marketing attribution data
  • You'll only receive the information that Housecall Pro captures.

Recommended Workflow:

For complete marketing attribution, capture leads through WhatConverts-tracked forms on your website first, then send them to Housecall Pro via Zapier. This ensures you maintain full visibility into which marketing channels drive your leads.

Data Availability

When sending data from Housecall Pro to WhatConverts, the available information depends on what Housecall Pro captures during job creation or completion. When sending data from WhatConverts to Housecall Pro, you can map any field that WhatConverts tracks to any compatible field in Housecall Pro.

API Key Requirements

Connecting to Housecall Pro requires an API key, which is only available on Housecall Pro's Essentials plan or MAX plan. The Basic plan does not support API access. You can retrieve your API key from the Housecall Pro Zapier integration page here.
