Connect WhatConverts to Freshsales

Connect WhatConverts to Freshsales via Zapier to automatically sync lead and sales data between the two platforms.

Before You Begin

To set up this integration, you will need:

Connect Freshsales to Zapier

To connect your Freshsales account to Zapier:

  1. When setting up your first Freshsales step in a Zapier workflow, you'll be prompted to connect your account.
  2. Click "Sign in to Freshsales".
  3. Enter your Freshsales domain and API key.
  4. Click "Continue".
  5. Authorize Zapier to access your Freshsales account.
  6. Your Freshsales account will now be connected and available for all your Zapier workflows.

Set up a Custom Field in Freshsales

To create custom fields in Freshsales for storing the WhatConverts Lead ID:

  1. Log in to Freshsales.
  2. Go to "Admin Settings".
  3. Navigate to "CRM Customization", then "Modules and Fields".
  4. Create your custom field in the "Contact" module.
  5. Name the field something like "WhatConverts Lead ID" or "Lead ID".
  6. Set the field type to "Text" or "Number".
  7. Save the custom field.

This custom field will be available for mapping in your Zapier workflows.

Understand Data Flow Options

The Freshsales integration supports bidirectional data flow through separate Zapier workflows:

From WhatConverts to Freshsales

  • Send new lead data from WhatConverts to create contacts in your CRM
  • Keep your sales team updated with fresh leads from your marketing efforts
  • Store the WhatConverts Lead ID as a custom field in Freshsales for future updates

From Freshsales to WhatConverts

  • Send quote values and sales data back to WhatConverts when deals close
  • Track revenue attribution to understand which marketing sources generate the most valuable customers
  • Update existing leads in WhatConverts with sales information from your CRM

Set Up Your Zapier Workflows

The Freshsales integration requires separate Zapier workflows for each type of data you want to sync. Choose which workflows you need based on your business requirements:

To send data FROM WhatConverts TO Freshsales

To send data FROM Freshsales TO WhatConverts

Test Your Connection

After setting up your Zapier workflows:

  1. Create a test record in the source platform (lead or contact update, depending on your workflow).
  2. Verify that the Zapier workflow triggers and completes successfully.
  3. Check the destination platform to confirm that the data was created or updated with the correct information.
