Track Drift Chats
Drift is a conversational marketing and sales platform that provides live chat, chatbots, and customer engagement tools. WhatConverts can track Drift chat conversations by adding a simple JavaScript snippet to your website, which automatically captures new chat sessions along with the marketing attribution data that brought the visitor to your site.
Note: If you haven't added your WhatConverts tracking script to your website, add your tracking script. If you are using the WhatConverts WordPress Plugin, you will want to deactivate the plugin and place your WhatConverts Tracking Code above your Drift Chat Integration Code.
Set Up Drift Chat Tracking
To track Drift chat conversations with WhatConverts:
- Log in to the website you would like to track your Drift Chats on.
- Add the following code after the Drift Chat JavaScript Installation Code:

<script> drift.on('ready', function(api) { drift.on('startConversation', function() { wc_chat_ypbib("Chat", "New Chat Session"); }); }); </script> - Save your changes.
This will trigger a new Chat lead in WhatConverts when someone starts a chat. You will see a chat lead in your WhatConverts dashboard with the information that a new chat was received and the marketing data that inspired the user to start the chat.
Note: It can take a few minutes after a chat ends to show up in your WhatConverts dashboard.
