What is a Profile?
A Profile is where all your lead tracking, reporting, and customized setup happen inside WhatConverts.
Each Profile represents a specific website or location, and has its own tracking script, which determines where website activity and conversions are recorded. When the tracking script is placed on a website, all captured data flows directly into that Profile.
Profiles are the operational level of WhatConverts. They hold your tracking, custom fields, integrations, and Lead Intelligence rules, everything needed to analyze and qualify leads, assign value, and report on ROI.
For agencies or multi-location businesses, each Profile represents an individual client, brand, or website, while remaining organized under its parent Account.
Note: A Profile is automatically generated when creating an Account.
Why Use Profiles?
Without a Profile structure, it's nearly impossible to separate tracking, reporting, and automations across clients or websites. Profiles give every business or agency a clear, flexible way to manage data at the most granular level.
- Dedicated tracking: Capture leads from specific websites through a unique tracking script.
- Granular reporting: View lead details, customer journeys, and ROI for individual websites or locations.

Note: Each Profile operates independently but inherits certain permissions or automations from the Account or Master Account above it.

Examples of How Businesses Use Profiles

- Single business: Create one Profile under your Account.
- Agency: Create one Profile per client website or location, all grouped under each client's Account.
- Multi-location business: Create one Profile per location, allowing each branch or franchise to have its own reporting and lead tracking setup.
This setup ensures accurate attribution, clean reporting, and complete visibility across your marketing and sales performance.
