Understand the AI Usage Rates

AI Analysis in WhatConverts is billed based on actual usage, not a flat fee. Each time AI processes a lead interaction, small costs are applied depending on how much data it analyzes and how detailed its response is. This guide explains how AI usage is measured, what each rate means, and what you can expect to pay on average per call or analysis.

How AI Usage Is Measured

AI Analysis is calculated using two units of measurement: input groups and output groups.

  • Input Groups represent the data being analyzed, such as a call transcription or the text prompt you submit.
  • Output Groups represent the AI's generated response and analysis results.

Each group equals roughly 1,000 characters or 750 words.

AI Usage Rates

The current AI Analysis rates are:

  • $0.015 per input group
  • $0.05 per output group

This means you're billed for both the information being analyzed and the analysis the AI produces.

For example:

  • The input could be a 3-minute call transcription and any questions being analyzed.
  • The output is the AI's written response, insights, or classifications from that analysis.

Understand the Cost in Real Scenarios

AI usage costs vary depending on the length of the conversation and how many questions or prompts are used.

A 3-minute call typically produces about 1,650 characters, or roughly 1.6 input groups. If you add another 100 characters for prompts or follow-up questions, the input cost would be about $0.027 per call.

The output cost is usually around $0.05 unless you're asking many open-ended questions or requesting detailed summaries.

In total, most users can expect:

  • Around $0.05 to $0.06 per call for an average 3-minute interaction.
  • About $0.02 per minute as a general estimate.

These numbers are meant as practical averages with actual cost depending on transcription length, question complexity, and output size.

Note: For quoting or planning purposes, assume a 3-minute call analyzed with 3 to 5 questions costs about $0.05 to $0.06 total.

Shorter calls will cost less, and longer calls with multiple questions will cost slightly more.
