Set Session Expiration for All Users

Who has access to this feature?

📍 Available on: Elite Plan

👤 Access level: Master Account Users Only

Session Expiration automatically logs users out of WhatConverts after a set period of inactivity. This helps protect sensitive data by ensuring that inactive sessions don't remain open on shared or unattended devices.

Before you start, see Set Password Expiration for All Users or Enable Two-Factor Authentication for additional account security options.

Set a Session Expiration Policy

To set the session expiration time for all users:

  1. Go to Master Account Settings. Select "Security".
  2. Under Security, choose "Session Expiration".
  3. In the Session Expiration Activation section, enter the number of minutes of inactivity before a user's session expires. (e.g., Enter 30 to automatically log users out after 30 minutes of inactivity).
  4. Click "Update Session Expiration" to apply changes.
  5. Users will be automatically logged out after the specified period of inactivity.

Note: If your Master Account has HIPAA Compliance enabled, the session expiration limit is automatically set to 15 minutes and cannot be increased. This ensures compliance with HIPAA security standards for protecting patient-related information.
