Get Started: Connect Google Ads

Connecting Google Ads to WhatConverts allows you to automatically send lead data into your Google Ads account. This integration lets you optimize campaigns and gain deeper insights into which marketing efforts drive real results.

As part of the Get Started Checklist, this step ensures your Google Ads integration is set up correctly so conversions flow into your account.

Step 1: Start the Connection

1. Open the Connect Google Ads step in the checklist.
2. Click “Add Google Ads Connection.”

Step 2: Sign In to Google Ads

1. Select the Google account you use to log in to Google Ads.
2. Click “Continue” to allow WhatConverts access to your Google Ads account.

Step 3: Define Conversion Actions

1. Select your Customerand Account from the dropdown menus.
2. Enter a Conversion Name.
3. Optionally, enter a Call Extension Conversion Name if you want to send call extension data.



4. Click “Next Step.”

Step 4: Configure the Connection Settings

On the following pages, choose what leads you’d like WhatConverts to send and how to send them to Google Ads as conversions. Decide:

1. How many conversions to count per click
2. Which click to use (first or last)
3. When to trigger conversions
4. Whether to update conversions when Sales Value changes
5. What types of leads to send (calls, forms, chats, etc.)
6. Whether to use enhanced conversions
7. Click “Finish” to complete the setup.

Step 5: Confirm the Connection

1. You’ll see an overview screen confirming the account is connected.
2. Review the details to make sure all information is correct.
