Receive Voicemail Notifications Using Zapier

Note: Using the Voicemail Call Flow feature, a caller can leave a voicemail that can be listened to directly from your WhatConverts Lead Manger.

1Go to Zapier and click "Create Zap". Choose "WhatConverts" as the Trigger app and "New Lead" as the Trigger Event.

Connect your WhatConverts account and under Choose Account and click "Continue".

Under Set up trigger select "No" for each of the lead types with the exception of Phone Calls (completed). Select "Yes" for Phone Calls (Completed). Select your profile from the Profile (required) drop down menu and click "Continue".

Click "Continue". Then, select "Test Trigger" to pull in samples.

    Note: While Zapier is searching for samples, you can place a new call to one of your WhatConverts tracking numbers and leave a Voicemail Message to continue to set up the Zap.

Select the Lead from your sample call and click "Continue".

2Search for and select "Filter by Zapier". On the Filter Setup & Testing section, in the first drop down select "Answer Status". In the second drop down, select "(Text) Contains" and in the third box, type in "Voicemail".

Click "Continue".

3Click "+" to add a third step to your Zap.

    Note: This step will be to send your Voicemail notification to the platform of your choice. In this help document, we are sending an email notification for each new Voicemail received.

Search for and select "Email by Zapier" as the Action App and select "Send Outbound Email as the Action Event.

On the Set up action page, fill in and customize the following:

  • To: This is the email that you'd like the notification to be sent to
  • Subject: This will be the subject line of the emails. You can include dynamic information such as the Caller Number as shown in the image below.
  • Body: Here you can include all the information from the lead you would like to include in the email message. In the image below, we're sending a brief message followed by information regarding who the voicemail is from, the Voicemail Play URL so the recipient can listen to their voicemail, the time and date the lead was received and marketing data.
  • From Name: This is the name you'd like to send the notification from.
  • Reply to: This is the email you'd like to receive any replies to this notification.

Click "Continue".

You can send a test by selecting "Test & Continue" on the next page.

Once the test is successful, turn your Zap "On".

Using WhatConverts, you can receive an incoming lead notification for every phone call you track. Using the Call Flow feature, you can also set up a Voicemail Step that allows callers to leave you a voicemail that can be listened to directly from your WhatConverts dashboard.

By default, if a voicemail is received by a caller, the phone call notification will include the "Voicemail" answer status, but the lead notification is still sent as a "New Phone Call Received" email.

You can get notifications specifically for Voicemail messages to your email or mobile phone using Zapier with the steps below:

1Go to Zapier and click "Make a Zap". Under When this happens ... choose "WhatConverts" as the app and "New Lead" under Choose Trigger Event.

Connect your WhatConverts account and under Choose Account and click "Continue".
